Rules

Rules are mainly pointlessly created by moderators to ensure that they stay in the spotlight and you do not. You will not find a rules page around here. HOWEVER, we do have a few guidelines for our streamers to follow. Anything that could get our channel shut down is forbidden. This means no movies, nothing incredibly offensive or explicit, and no copyrighted material.

RULE NUMBAH ONE: Use common sense.
Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Tips

When evaluating potential streamers, here are a few things we look at.

If you're up to our standards (hah, standards) then you'll become the newest member of our team! Nothing complicated, nothing formal, just video games!

Unless there is something really special about you, you must have a microphone and be able to give audio commentary. Simply put, streams without a mic tend to be boring. I wouldn't say this is a requirement, just an incredibly strong suggestion.

Streaming can be complicated. A good place to start would be to download Procaster. Set the output resolution to 320x240, the bitrate to 400kbps, framerate to 30fps, and add your mic in the audio mixer (and set it to 96kbps while you're at it). If you have no problems with this continue to crank up the resolution and bitrate until you find a quality level you're happy with. Also, it does take a fairly decent computer to stream, so be sure your computer is up to it!

Don't like Procaster? Try XSplit. Not only can it do many things that Procaster cannot, but it can also stream to justin.tv as well as Livestream. It is more lightweight than Procaster so it may be more suitable for those of you with a weaker computer. It's simple to set up, but feel free to ask any questions!
